Another CCA Texas Star winner

by Lili Keys

This year’s CCA Texas Star Tournament tagged redfish have been caught from the Sabine to the Rio Grande and everywhere in between. Texas anglers have shattered previous records, landing 14 tagged red’s to date, with at least one coming out of every major Texas fishing hub across the coast.

As of this morning, STAR has the seventh certified winner in angler Kevin Gorski of Houston. He will be taking home a brand new Haynie 23-foot Bigfoot boat package. There are still three of these boats left for the catching with a month and a half of tournament left. In the past two week, STAR has also had two other tagged redfish caught in the Lower Laguna Madre with fish coming out of Port Mansfield and South Padre Island. Unfortunately, both anglers were not registered and instead of a new boat, got to enjoy a pair of $50,000 redfish fillets.
