Major thunderstorms dumped on Texas this weekend. The Blanco River pushed out of its banks and, according to a CNN report, 400 homes have been washed away near Wimberley.

Kwan.com reports the river crested at 43 feet and flowed at a rate of 223,000 cubic feet per second — 2.5 times the flow of Niagra Falls.

Lone Star Outdoor News Foundation intern, Cole Farris, reported in.

“I put my kayak in the water to fish right here … It’s gone from last night’s monsoon,” he said. “It was bad. Tornados, straight line winds — just craziness.”
