The Dallas Safari Club annual convention, after already moving its dates from January to February, 2021, was a go despite a pandemic, mask-wearing requirements and restrictions on crowd numbers.
Until Dec. 11, when city and county officials, claiming they would be unable to meet contractual obligations after recommendations of the County Health Authority, said the live convention would not be taking place.
After an emergency board meeting on Dec. 11, the DSC board made the official decision to reposition the 2021 convention to a modified, virtual event.
DSC President Mark Little told Lone Star Outdoor News that alternative plans have been in the works for months in the event a change was required, and the virtual convention is planned for the same scheduled dates, Feb. 11-14.
All deposits made by the club to the convention center are being returned, and sponsors, exhibitors and members are being contacted with the news.

Just a note from a hunter.
This postponing and cancelling came too late in the game. It cost me a couple of grand in hotel reservations that were not refundable after the first postponement!
I understand that we need to be careful but either the mask and social distancing works or it don’t work. Do this, don’t do that, back and forth all the time is BS.
I know hundreds of other people, restaurants, hotels, outfitters, and other businesses lost more but still, the City of Dallas is RESPONSIBLE for this, when you vote remember not how they saved you but what they cost you! J/S
