Well-know sporting dog artist Wayne Caldwell Simmons will be making two stops in the Dallas-Fort Worth area tomorrow and Saturday to sign his new book, The Story of Jules Verne; A Watch Pocket Dog.
Simmons will be at the Garland Bass Pro on Friday, June 14, from 2 to 8 p.m., and the Grapevine Bass Pro on Saturday, June 15, from 2 to 8 p.m.
A native of New Orleans, Simmons began painting at an early age. After graduating from Ole Miss, he continued to paint while also pursuing a career in advertising.
Today, he and his wife, Gay, divide their time between their homes in Shreveport and Door County, Wisconsin.
Simmons’ latest book is a story for dog lovers. It is a true story; the experiences, the characters, even the rocky start of a special relationship. The story, with paintings and illustrations by Simmons, recounts a young man’s journey with his hunting dog over a 10-year span.
Jules is a handsome, coffee-table style book with a warm, compelling story readers will treasure. The cost of the hardcover, 100-page book is $29.95.
