Don’t miss the American Sniper Shootout on December 5

by Lili Keys

Taya Kyle and reigning NRA World Champion shooter Bruce Piatt will be taking on quite a challenge December 5 off of Old Junction Road in Mason.

Kyle, whose husband, Chris, wrote the book “American Sniper” and was depicted in the movie with the same name, will battle Piatt in the shootout of the century to support and celebrate our troops, veterans and first responders.

Kyle will have an advantage, though. She will be shooting TrackingPoint’s Precision Guided Firearms, while Piatt will be shooting traditional military firearms.

If Piatt wins, he’ll collect a cool $1 million!

The event, hosted by TrackingPoint with proceeds benefiting the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, will begin at 11 a.m. and feature live music by the Scooter Brown Band, Grammy-winning group Asleep at the Wheel and country superstar Eastin Corbin, sponsor exhibits, an interactive Spartan Race mobile obstacle course, food and drinks.

At the shootout, Taya will be the first person since her husband to take the famous 2,100-yard Sadr City shot depicted in the movie.

Admission is free for military and first responders and $10 for adults.
