abasstounryeIt’s tournament time in Texas again.

The Texas Team Trail Presented by Cabela’s will host its first event of the 2013 tournament season this weekend at Sam Rayburn Reservoir. The popular Texas lake is situated in east Texas between Beaumont and Longview.

Registration for the event is already underway with some angler prefishing today.

Designed exclusively for team competition, the event offers anglers an unprecedented opportunity in terms of payout, sponsor bonuses and television coverage.

The Sam Rayburn event is the first of four 2013 qualifying events that guarantee a fully-rigged, Triton 18XS powered by an Evinrude 150 HO package as first-place prize. This plus a budget-friendly, $250 entry fee, plus multiple contingency bonus programs and over 100 percent payback leads to a buzz among Texas‚ anglers. Sights are set on the new Texas Team Trail event on Sam Rayburn Lake, as well as the championship tournament in October on Falcon Lake.

On-site registration is set for today — Friday, March 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Umphrey Pavilion (5438 RR 255 West, Sam Rayburn, TX 75951).  TTT asks that one team member attend.  The tournament will launch Saturday, March 2, at safe light from Umphrey Pavilion and weigh-in will begin at the same location at 3 p.m.  Anglers with questions or anyone interested in more details on the event are encouraged to visit www.texasteamtrail.com or call 210-788-4143.
