A familiar face at TTHA

Visitors and exhibitors at the Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza in Fort Worth are used to seeing one of the Fort Worth Police Department officers walking the floor —Jimmy McCarthey.

McCarthey has been working the show since at least 1998, making sure no issues arise but also seeing the new products, visiting with exhibitors that return every year and helping attendees find what they are looking for.

“I’m pretty sure it has been that long,” McCarthey said. “I started working here when I became a sergeant. It’s a long weekend, but I like working here.”

McCarthey is an avid deer hunter who hunts in Coleman County with a group of friends. And there is an added benefit to working the extra shifts at TTHA.

“It pays for my deer lease,” he said.
