Looking for something to do this summer? How about trying to learn how to fly-fish? Already a fly-fisher? Then how about becoming more experienced?
The Texas Council of the International Federation of Fly Fishers is hosting its 3rd Destination Texas Fly Fishing Expo at the Grapevine Convention Center, September 8-10. Live demonstrations will be on the shore of Lake Grapevine at Oak Grove Park.

The expo lineup and activities are better than ever, with so much to do. Headliners including Kelly Galloup, Pat Cohen, Fred Hannie, Kyle Hand, Matt Bennet, Chuck Easterling, Bill Gammell, Jen Ripple, Molly Semenik and more.
Activities including a kayak demo day on Saturday, casting classes, presentations, tying presentations, auction, raffles, IF4 film show, kayak giveaway, presentations on area fly fishing locations, evening activities and much more. Bring the family, as there will be activities for the youth as well.
For those that want to learn how to cast a fly rod, or improve their fly casting, this year’s level and selection of classes is the best around. Classes are available from the beginner to the most experienced fly-caster and for men, women and youth.
Saturday will be a special day for those who love to fly fish out of their kayaks. Special events and demos of the latest kayaks all day, hosted by Mariner Sails and Backwoods. Learn to kayak, rig a kayak, add accessories to your yak, or maybe even learn how to stand up in your yak. Many different distributors will be there to let you try the latest brands.
Daytime expo activities will include presentations on fly-fishing from all over the state, and tying demonstrations from some of the best tiers in the south.
Nighttime activities include a welcoming party and exclusive, one-time-only in Texas showing of the IF4 film show on September 8. The IF4 film show consists of short and feature-length films produced by professional filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly-fishing.
On Friday night, a Texas-style BBQ will take place on the shores of Lake Grapevine, with world-class streamer expert Kelly Galloup, will dazzle with his expertise on throwing big streamers for big fish.
Saturday night there will be a kayak raffle giveaway, live auction and awards dinner.
