Biologist for the Inland Fisheries San Angelo Department surveyed Winters-Elm Creek Reservoir for catfish and white bass on March 18.

They observed good numbers of blue catfish and flathead catfish over 20 inches.

The huge white bass caught their attention. They sampled 6 bass that were over 2.5 pounds, with the largest at 17.9 inches and 3.27 pounds. Two of the white bass sampled would have beaten the current lake record of 2.7 pounds.

All fish were measured, weighed, and released back into the lake.
