Hurricane Harvey’s winds caused major damage last night. Rockport guide, Lloyd Lassiter, rode out the storm in his home and text me a thumbs up just before noon today and added one word. “Devastation”. The Port Bay Club has sustained heavy damage. The roof is off and there is 2 feet of water in the manager’s house. The pier, picking house and motor shed are all gone. Areas north of Rockport are heavily damaged. The Port Aransas harbor has been torn up as seen on aerial photos on Facebook. Our reporter, Robert Sloan, is near Victoria and currently taking the brunt of the storm.
