LSON’s David and Lili Sams spent Saturday afternoon fishing at a friend’s ranch near Cooper.
The group of 4 caught about 45 bass and this massive “man-sized” bluegill. Which means bass food for days in that pond.
Most of the bass caught measured between 10-12 inches, they collected a few to move to a neighbor’s pond.
The bass were hitting just about everything David threw at them. A D.O.A. PT7 topwater-lure attracted a lot of fish. But many of the small ones couldn’t hold it in their mouth. Jigging with small artificial plastics worked well. Spinner baits, rattle traps and trolling small crank baits also got the job done.
