Story from Small Game Program – Texas Parks and Wildlife

As part of a research study with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and Ducks Unlimited, TPWD has been tracking the migration of northern pintails to learn more about this iconic species. Curious where our Coastal and High Plains birds travel each year? Check out this map of pintail locations documented over the past 3 years! All told we’ve marked 140 birds and recorded over 310,000 locations from the attached GPS units since 2019.
