Marking 20 years of Lone Star Outdoor News

DALLAS (August 8, 2024): With its August 9 issue, Lone Star Outdoor News completed 20 years of publishing its semi-monthly newspaper, providing Texas hunters and fishermen with the most up-to-date news and information pertaining to their passion.

The issue, its 480th, includes one of LSON’s most popular supplements, the Texas Hunting Annual, highlighting the upcoming hunting seasons, firearms, products, hunting opportunities, hunting properties and more. View the issue here.

“The past 20 years have flown by,” said LSON founder David J. Sams. “We have met so many people across the state and worldwide, all who share a love of the outdoors. We’re excited to have brought so much information to Texas sportsmen and will continue to do so.”

Executive Editor Craig Nyhus said the uncertainties of the new business were well worth it.

“We both left our professions — David in photography and me in law — knowing the risk, but we also knew that Texans wanted to be kept informed about all of the hunting and fishing information across such a vast and diverse state.”
