14 podium finishes for Team Beretta at 2022 National Sporting Clays Championship

Team Beretta shooters recently achieved 14 podium finishes during the 2022 National Sporting Clays Championship at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, TX.

Team Beretta members in attendance at this competition included Zachary Kienbaum, Anthony Matarese, Jr., Joseph Fanizzi, Desirae Edmunds, Diane Sorantino, Dominic Grossi, Meagan Harrington, and Jared Greenwood.

Kienbaum, shooting with a Beretta DT11, secured his third HOA National Champion title with an exceptional score of 285 out of 300 targets, besting his nearest competitor by 1 target. With this accomplishment and his back-to-back National wins in 2018 and 2019, Kienbaum joins a select group of two other sporting clays athletes as the only competitors to have ever won 3 National Championship HOA titles in NSCA history. Kienbaum, shooting with a Beretta A300 Ultima, also took home an additional champion title in the 20 Gauge event with a score of 94 out of 100 targets.

Kienbaum finished his historic night with a runner-up finish in the 2022 NSCA Championship Tour and was named as the 2022 FITASC Grand Slam Champion.

Matarese, who competes with a Beretta DT11 L, achieved a third place podium finish in the main event with a score of 283/300 and a runner-up podium finish in the K-Kup event with a score of 97/100. Matarese was also crowned the 2022 NSCA Championship Tour Champion after some stellar performances throughout the season.

Fanizzi, who shoots with a Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting, obtained a junior champion title in the main event with a score of 281 out of 300 targets. He also secured an additional junior champion finish and junior third place finish in the K-Kup and 5 Stand events with scores of 97/100 and 92/100, respectively.

Fanizzi capped a superb season as the 2022 FITASC Grand Slam Junior Champion and 2022 NSCA Championship Tour Junior Champion (and subsequent third overall) after several top scores in regional, national, and international events throughout the year.

Edmunds achieved a ladies’ runner-up podium win in the main event with a solid score of 275 targets out of 300. She also obtained a ladies’ third place podium finish and a ladies’ champion podium win in the K-Kup and Beretta Challenge Super Sporting events with scores of 93/100 and 90/100 targets, respectively.

Sorantino secured 3 ladies’ veteran champion podium titles in the FITASC, K-Kup, and Beretta Challenge Super Sporting events with scores of 83/100, 89/100, and 85/100, respectively.

Gross, who shoots with a Beretta SO5, brought home a runner-up podium win in the Beretta Challenge Super Sporting event with a score of 97 out of 100 targets.

Harrington and Greenwood competed against some tough competitors and scored within the top ten of each event in which they were entered.

Team Beretta shooters will start the 2023 season with the 2023 Jack Link’s Cup held at the Quail Creek Sporting Ranch in Okeechobee, FL from February 14-19, 2023.
