It was a cold weekend for getting outdoors, but Mike Hughs went bow hunting in the Hill Country for deer. No luck there, but that didn’t stop him. Hughs decided to bow hunt for hogs at night. He used the TRUGLO Archers’s Choice Range Rover Pro for the sight with a single lighted green pin. He also went with the TRUGLO green LED bow light that attached to a stabilizer. Everything worked out when he shot a hog that came into the feeder area after dark. Meanwhile, Craig Nyhus gave Dakota, the newsroom dog, some exercise over the weekend. David Sams took some time to be social and attend holiday parties. As for fishing, water temperatures at area lakes are dropping. That’s good news for catfish, with larger blues and channels showing up. Baiting over shoreline coves at Richland Chambers worked well during the cold part of the weekend for guides Royce and Adam Simmons.
